Macro lenses for 35mm film look Adapter

Since I am often asked what one should take if you want to buy lenses for that depth of field adapter, I now post a small article about it.

So, you should look out when buying lenses for DOF (Depth of Field) Adapter:

for film look adapters should only use lenses for SLR cameras were constructed.

Background: small film has dimensions of 24mm x 36mm, this also applies to the TV screen of most film look adapters. Lenses make the image from general circular, only the central part of the image falls on the film SLR cameras, as the lower figure.

Towards the edges, the image is both dark and blurred. Digital cameras usually have a smaller image sensor and the optics of this are calculated. They thus have a greater depth of field as 35mm film. If then a calculated digital camera lens on a 35mm depth of field adapter must be reckoned with darker edges and edge blur because the picture was just calculated for a smaller picture area.

fixed focal length, so lenses with a fixed Eintellungsgröße, generally offer better image sharpness than zoom lenses .

Thus, there is a standard set at 35mm optics of the following objectives:

18mm 25mm 35mm

50mm 85mm

Slight photo lenses, the manufacturers do not necessarily exactly the same focal lengths of film lenses. My wide-angle lens from Tokina is about a 17mm lens. reach
f4.0 to f5.6 aperture
In general their lenses imaging Maximum, this is for practice with depth of field adapters usually only possible with some light work in interior shots, because rarely are spaces from the ground up bright enough to reach this brightness. The intensity of the objectives is crucial.

Therefore: minimum aperture (the aperture, which transmits the most light) f2.8 .

All lenses that start at f 4.0 or higher aperture values are only during the day outside or inside use, with an immense burden light. For most adapters, the focusing screen, however, from an aperture of four and a half already visible, the aperture scope mounted on the lens accordingly low.

the light loss of the adapter and the camera should not be forgotten.

As a small calculation: Aperture 1.0 would correspond to any loss of light. Normally, the recording camcorder zoomed in on the TV screen ever had a fair value of at least f2.0 aperture (= one stop) have. Now take the adapter some light (between a half and 2 f) and then have the attached lens to it (at least half an f-stop with very good lenses) ... it loses on the light path that is at least 2 stop by the adapter technology, usually more.

minimum sharpness : Being called a minimum of field is the least possible distance between the receiving level (in our case, the focusing screen) and the recorded object or subject. The smaller this distance, the better. Good telephoto lenses have a macro name . Recently, I am the proud owner of a 100mm lens from Tokina (ATX PRO) with minimum distance 30cm and minimum aperture of f2, 8 This allows me and other details such as eyes fill the frame, and above all to make very sharp, as the following picture shows.

appear decisive for the use of a lens with 35mm adapter I also know if it changed the zoom setting or its size, because if so, is the use of filters by means of a compendium (Also called Matte box) in question ...

Quite simply, a tube pushes the zoom setting or in the way, this collides with the filter ... PLONG! ... And makes the worst scratches on it NEN.

The Tokina AT-X Pro 28-70mm zoom is an example that does not change its size.

is important for the work, the length of the path of the field closest to the most distant Schärfeneintellung. With my Tamron 28-75mm zoom as I have the problem that it represents only a quarter turn of the focus ring. Although the mapping services are quite good, but this short remove or between near and far make a precise sharpening in unexpected situations almost impossible.

Sources: Most of my lenses I have bought used on ebay, mostly from private sales, because the selection is greatest. I have noticed is that lenses used in most Pholäden to purchase at a similar price levels are, however, one must pay more Mehwertsteuer.

indicators for a total not ausgenudelte looks are the names "like new" or "barely used". It is important that the lens has no scratches on the lens, no fungus (a type of fungus that can form in wet storage in the lenses inside the lens and the image can be milky) and that dust has got into the inner lenses.

Everything else means a lot of research on the net, depending on how much you want to or can spend. Original master disc, such as Canon and Nikon seem to be the measure of all things that are third party manufacturers like Sigma, Tamron or Tokina sometimes try to compete with clones. Price and quality I can recommend the Tokina ATX Pro series only, even if I get any money from that: o) In various Internet reviews, but also his own experience provides an affordable alternative Tokina to the originals.

comparison of different exposure times

Have now (finally) made the comparison of different exposure times on Vimeo, which I announced in my first report on the Letus Ultimate . Granted, he has failed not as clear as I hoped it to me. Unfortunately could test only up to a 250stel second, because for even lower shutter speeds do not have enough light to build it in my shower.

hope, however, one sees the difference in the second or third We'll see.

Komik Honeyhoney Drops

Am I petty?

As I've written before about one and a half years, the lines of my profile, I have set goals for this blog. This included, that I am related to would annoy certain things ...

So far I have not made dennn but, primarily, the blog is used to prepare my experiences for others and to share with others. I refer, after all, a lot of information through the network, without which I knew not long enough, I know.

And that's the deal: give and take.

why I am angry a lot when I take my time to give someone a reply to his question and then never again hear something, either a "thank you" nor a "Find your shit I answer," but do nothing.

wanted to give me the brief for the good and got me calmed down again, but not without comment.

Regards, Christian

comparison with and without a 35mm adapter

Did the test images of the workshop, cut together in Linz. It is a sequence which was shot in parallel on a Sony HVR-Z1 and Panasonic HVX201 with 35mm without film look adapters. The images are color corrected contrast and color, 100 percent I will have them but not able to hammer out.

By clicking on the picture you'll be taken to the video.

If one takes 2 minutes and set up a Vimeo account can be downloaded from the video in best quality (somewhere at the bottom right of the page as a Quicktime file).

As you've noticed it myself, here's not much going on. Although there are still some visitors to the site, but I just do not have at the moment of time to concern myself much with the issue.
search why I still willing to freelance editors who left here now and then a few messages. It is free to report on what is, but it should certainly fit the theme of Aquascaping. Beck performances, interviews, news from the Aquascaper world, or whatever, there's a lot to report, but as I said, I lack the time these days.

over-organization, the page or something, you have to address not only is it important that the site filled with new content is. If you are interested, can so simply contact me, because I find it a pity if the blog hindümpelt so slowly. He still has many readers and a lot of interest and I think is one of Germany's best blogs so far on the subject and it should stay that way. So, just contact me if you are interested.

Cost Of Laminating Staples

Aquanet.tv starts

Today it finally arrived, the appearance of Aquanet.tv starts with the premiere broadcast tonight at 18:00. With the following, I think, interesting topics, do the makers put the first spectator.

The first impressions of the Internet Aquarium TV look very promising. Good image quality, great image and a pleasant narrative voice offer the audience a lot, after all, the service is completely free needed and not even a Anmeldung.Schon for several weeks at Aquanet.tv running a competition for the opening. "You go to where the pepper grows" is the title and can win two trips to French Guiana. I
must say a really great service that you get there for free and I will follow the broadcasts with power.

Infected Rook Peircing

interview with Oliver Knott

First about yourself. What's your name? how old are you? where are you from? Than what you work for? Did you find the Aquascaping other hobbies?

Oliver Knott, 36 years old, place of birth: Karlsruhe (Resident of Baden)

main job: self-employed aquarium designer, also project presentation live stock for the Kölle-Zoo group

hobby: my free time is my family

When and how did you first hear of Aquascaping and when it has packed up himself?

Did the age of 16 (1988) started an apprenticeship in the pet trade and have since then been in the industry. The focus was always working the aquarium and to the first book by Takashi Amano (1994), I caught myself more and more into the area planted aquariums. Takashi Amano in 1999 I visited the pet store where I was working as a manager was and then it was done completely by me, especially since I have sold with the first in Germany at all its products.

What makes Aquascaping for you so interesting?

The variety in the design and development, particularly in plants aquariums from planting to the perfect growth.

Do you have a specific favorite style?

I try as often as possible to try new things do not always fall back into the same scheme. So I would consider myself a "freestyle".

Do you have a favorite decorative element, favorite fish or plants?

decoration: Exceptional stone types and abstract fine root locations, but always on the lookout for possible new cases.

favorite fish: very difficult to come to the pool size. I like the natural colors of fish and prefer as Puntius denisonii for larger pools or several small Zwergrasbora Salmerarten or small pool.

plants: foreground plant I love, especially so exceptional as Utricularia graminifolia. My favorite was a long stem plant Ludwigia 'Cuba' or Limnophila aromatica. But you can almost any plant to "seem" teach the proper care and in the correct placement of the pelvis.

holst How do you look at the inspirations for your aquarium?

The global competitions around aquarium designs, particularly in the Asian region. From nature and from my own imagination.

Do you have any tips for beginners, such as how you're going against algae?

The most important is the right choice of plants for the planned pool, as for lighting and water parameters. For beginners, I recommend actually always first with a "low light" Pool to begin and begin as plants such as Cryptocoryne and mosses. There, algae problems are relatively rare and easy to get a grip. Then you can ranwagen still at the "upper" class.

How many tanks do you run at the moment? As many already established in your life?

have at home the moment I test 3-4 small pool of the various plants. In the various Kölle-Zoo (6 markets) run at the moment about 4-5 tanks of me which are maintained largely by the staff on site. Every year I set up to time about 50-60 pools for long-term operation, to come to the 20-25 Short-term fair to pool.

Overall, I guess I have since my playing days 20 years ago set up at the 1,000 tanks and maintained largely by themselves.

What are your biggest successes?

The Overall Winner of the AGA Contest 2004, first place AGA 2005 and 10th place in IAPLC (ADA) in 2005.

Do you have role models or people you admire much?

Clearly Takashi Amano absolutely exceptional talent and a pioneer of Naturaquaristik. Also operate all aquarium designer in the world that your hobby with so much passion and commitment. This gives us hope for many an "eye candy" in the future.

In the major competitions we see clearly that the Asian participants are often higher than those in the West, where do you think is the difference?

naturally has a Takashi Amano already made a big impact n. Be it through the wider distribution his articles in the region and its allies of achievements in the division. In addition, the Asian cultural reasons alone probably a slightly different relationship to nature and the creative ability. I admire the Asi atic culture and strive for perfection, especially in Japan. However, I think d ie western countries will be able to catch up in the next few years as it is improving here every year more and more.

looks like your planning for the future? And how do you think the Aquascaping will develop in the future, what styles, distribution, etc?

I will for my part, continue to try to inspire the people for the aquarium hobby to . Although some criticize my "outliers" in the aquarium design sometimes, I'll still try to go to the limits of taste and to dare new things. When you talk about it and discussed it at least is moving in the matter.

In the future, win the smaller tanks in my opinion, still more important. From technical point of view of energy and cost reasons.
the style will probably pretend again that Asians. And it lies at any if he himself not its own distinctive style invented. Every success to all!

Best Plasma Tv Consumers Reports

Oliver Knott the NDR

Oliver Knott is probably the best known Aquascaper in Germany. With many aquariums and workshops in the Kölle-Zoo key he presents himself and his pool very well.

If you missed the article, can also look at all here yet. It is not long, but interesting nonetheless. Have fun watching! There

A Path to the Finished Aquarium Latest events

The browse the web I am once again found a very interesting article ( A Path to the Finished Aquarium ). This is written personally by the master, Takashi Amano that shows the path from the beginning to the finished aquarium to trim with the right of the plants and about weekly shots. What makes the product even more interesting is that there's I nformation around the basin, such as filtering, the light or the prune the plants. The article is written in English, but through Google or similar sites can be the yes side to translate literally, so you could at least understand the meaning. Here I offer you a few times excerpts from the article.

May 31 st , 2005 (7 th day)

Five different types of fish: Neon Tetra, Scarlet Gem, Aplocheilichthys macrophthalmus , Red Phantom Tetra, and Inpaichthys kerri , are added taking the aquascape and the swimming space into consideration.

July 27 th , 2005 (64 th day)

Approximately one week after the 2 nd trimming. New shoots are developing well and the leaves are getting smaller than the size at the initial planting time with repeated trimming. could

Skating On First Date

As you've probably noticed, Today has been a bit what happens to the layout. So I designed the header a bit more modern and attractive and create a small logo, the fish. I find he has become very sweet and I hope you think like that. With this new little mascot I will also design in the near future even a few banners if you want to support me and want to do a little advertising.

How unfortunately had to notice, I've written lately not so much. Myself, it sucks a little, but soon will follow more articles.
It is a journal to give to my new aquarium, a 200l tank which I will transform myself lots of pictures and a bit of background knowledge. I hope that this will be interesting for you and maybe I can attract so yes, a few more visitors.
addition, I'm just here to write a couple of other articles on the topic. These have progressed more or less, you can however you look at something and I hope I continue to remain faithful to her, because as many visitors as of late I did not expect myself, but I am very pleased!

Happy New Year!

After're now gone several days without a post of mine, which was probably mainly because my computer is not able to survive the holidays, I wanted to wish you now in hindsight again Merry Christmas and a happy new year. I think and hope that you all have enjoyed the day and now enter with fresh vigor into the new Aqua risk Czech 2008 can. Right at the beginning

us Online Aquarium Magazine by S. Karkus with a new edition of the January 2008, a few nice items delivered. There are, of course, download the magazine back on www.aquariummagazin.de
If you want something nice reading should buy the January issue of the fee-based but instead printed Aquarium Magazine "Amazon". Here is the second part of Oliver Knott of Takashi Amano, a report from the "Nature Aquarium Gallery" published. If you missed the last issue, this can reorder here, which I can then recommend the issue 8 of December 2006, which has as main theme of natural aquariums.
